I am so glad I finally got to post this beautiful session ! We had so beautiful light this day ! Kari, What a gorgeous family you have! Little Griffin is a joyful little boy :)

I started this as a fun list to share with some friends, but I am sure it applies to more people!
Hope you find it useful!
1. I will commit to an schedule
Yeap, it is hard. The moment you wake up with a “full” day you think you can do it all, and somehow you still think it is possible at 2:00 Am.
Good tips: Lists , a planner/ organizer or a progress sheet .
Find a way that works for you to to organize your time without expending too much time on the organizing part :p
2. I will not end up on the Internet for the wrong reason
I love Pinterest, I love cat pictures and I love browsing the internet , but sometimes I use it as a distraction and less as a resourceful tool. Same goes with all the social- sites .
Minimize distractions or set up a slot of time for checking all these and be done with it.
3. I will stop comparing myself to others
And stop getting depressed about it. And this goes for life too! I will learn to look proudly at what I have accomplished and the wonderful pictures I take. (I still want your $7000 camera tough)
4. I will simplify my post processing
Also, I will take less pictures. Say what? No , I don’t mean it that way. I mean take more conscious pictures and avoid reaching the thousand pictures in a one-hour session. I will simplify my editing and use best tools for my work.
Tips: Shoot in manual and in RAW. Use Actions, use batch, use Adobe Lightroom!
5. I will attempt to have some free time
When I finally catch up, or after my day of work is over, I will relax and find some stuff to do away from the computer . I will avoid to work on Sundays and /or holidays .
6. I will actually eat breakfast at the table
I will take care of myself, prepare a healthy meal with delight and enjoy it. Breaks are super important during the day and by break I don’t mean run to the kitchen to get something. I will also go to bed when I am supposed to.
7. I will take care of my back
At home: I will sit straight, look away from the computer every 20 minutes, make sure my workplace is ergonomic and throw that old chair away.
When shooting: I will choose a good bag to carry on my shoulder, find straps that are better and stop carrying all in one bag!
<wishfulthinking> After 10 hours of shooting I will get a massage – </wishfulthinking>
8. I will backup more than once a month
I do backups of everything as soon as I get it out of the camera , but I always remember I need to do a total backup of my computer more than once a month.
9. I will feed my creative self
I will take my camera with more often, and will stop relating it to work. I will stop shooting everything else with the phone.
I love photography, I can’t believe how little pictures I took last year ’cause I was too busy.
I will take more pictures of friends , family and even myself.
10. I will share more photos I will blog more pictures, and share more pictures I have already taken. I will use whatever tool I have to do so: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIN and will find the right way to make them all connected so I don’t have to waste all that time updating them one by one .
Good luck ;) and Happy 2012!
What are your photography related resolutions? :)

what a great list. please, do take more photos of things that are important in your life. it is one of my great regrets that i don’t take time to capture every day life and instead only bring out my camera for “events”.
Wow! Fantastic list! I can relate fully to them all besides #9. I just printed 700 4X6 fully edited images of my family from only the past 3 months and will be putting them all in albums… maybe this is excessive and I should cut back??? ;) GREAT POST & LIST! Happy New Year!
lily: thank you for your comment!
I am trying to change that! I wished they make pro cameras a little smaller tough
abbey: Thank you! :) wow to you! that Sounds like a great idea! I want to do that!! What albums are you using ? (I am thinking how many too) haha
Even though a part of me doesn’t want the holidays to ever end , I am so excited for this new year and what it will be. I am all prepared: I have a daily planner, a weekly planner, an extra planner and lots of planning to make. Last year I didn’t have time to blog as much as I wish. I am already working on some new tools for that ! I know some of you check my website to see your pictures too , I am still trying to catch up with all the beautiful weddings of this last year. Among my new year resolutions is to blog a little bit more! I love to blog!
I am thrilled to share with you a little selection on my favorites of last year. I will start with my favorites from our WEDDINGS from both Costa Rica destination weddings and Minnesota weddings in the Twin Cities (we even had one in Wisconsin ) . I look at these and I can’t stop smiling!

Stephanie and Joel’s wedding was moved from a venue to another the day before cause of an accident, but that didn’t affect anything and their ceremony was wonderful. The happiness in their faces still makes me smile :)
